Middle-Earth - JRR Tolkien
Middle-earth refers to the fictional lands where most occur stories of author JRR Tolkien. Tolkien Stories have the struggle for control of the world and the continent of Middle-earth, between the angelic Valar, Elves and Men against the demonic forces of Melkor or Morgoth (a Vala fallen into evil) and his servants (mostly Orcs, Dragons and enslaved men.) Tolkien
prepared several maps of Middle Earth and the regions of Middle-earth in which his stories took place. Some were published in his life, though some of the early maps were not published until after his death. The main ones are the maps published in The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion. Tolkien said that Middle Earth is our Earth, but over a period of fiction in the past, the estimation of the end of the Third Age to about 6000 years before his own time. Later he went to refute this idea, and say that Middle Earth was not in a distant time physically, but rather "at a different stage of the imagination. "
